Fried Crispy Tofu is another famous local food of Taiwan.
We eat it for dinner or night snack most of the time.
Chou-A-Ji Fried Crispy Tofu is a well known Deli Stand in Dadu.
Fried Crispy Tofu is the main item they sell, 5 pieces for NT$40.
They also have some hot soup
Cuttlefish in thickened soup for NT$30
Combo soup for NT$ 25
Pig blood soup NT$ 15
Meat ball soup NT$ 15
Turnip soup NT$ 20
Fish ball soup NT$ 20 

Spend less than 100 for a meal. It's really great, isn't it?
 


Tables are set in front of the Temple.
You can enjoy your nice food here even it's a rainy day.


We often eat the fried crispy tofu with the Chinese pickled vegetables, which is a little bit
sweet and sour, not spicy. It's different from the Kimchi. 







Dip some chili sauce in if you like some spicy taste, put the pickles in and have a bit.
The tofu is crispy outside but soft inside.
With the sauce and the pickles.
This is the best way to eat.






The turnip is quite soft, easy to swallow.
The bouillon taste good and the cuttlefish slice is crispy.
I think the other kind of soup will be also delicious.

Besides The Taiwanese Meatball, Deryi Tofu Pudding and the Fried Crispy Tofu.

There are still other nice food in Dadu.

I think I need to arrange a trip here again, so that I can introduce them to you.

Tofu Pudding is a popular snack in Taiwan.
It is made from soybean and it taste soft and slippery.
We call it " Douhua".


In summer, we eat it with sweet soup.
In Winter, we eat it wish some ginger syrup.


Deryi Tofu pudding is a sweet soup Deli in Dadu for over 10 years.
Lots of citizens here love to buy a bowl of Tofu Pudding.
Eat a bowl of tofu pudding after exercise is so refreshing.
It gives you some calorie and protein.
The sweet soup here is the dark brown suger sweet soup.
And you can choose the Ginger syrup in Winter which can warm you up.


There are also many kinds of toppings to choose on your Tofu pudding such as
pearls, taro balls,  peanuts, Tangyuan...etc.

As for the price, local food always won't cost too much.




Though it's a small Deli, you can still see the certificates on the wall.
It is a proove of its quality and the food safety.


Spend some coins to have a big bowl of tofu pudding.
It is suitable for morning, afternoon, evening even night snack.

【Spot】∥Dadu, Taiwan∥ The Great Wall Hiking Trail

The Great Wall Hiking Trail
Entrance: Ln. 310, Sec. 2, Shatian Rd., Dadu Dist., Taichung City 432, Taiwan (R.O.C.)


Dadu is a place with good dayview, local food, ancient architecture and night view.
You can organize a whole day or a half day trip here.

The Entrance of the Great Wall Hiking trail is on  Ln. 310, Sec. 2, Shatian Rd,
When you are on Ln. 310, be aware of your left,
there is a parking lot opposite a factory.
The entrance is right beside the parking area.



Walk up for about 3 minutes, this is where we start hiking.




Let's start hiking by walking up the stairs.
Take your pace and breath.


Follow the third sign, our goal is to reach the top. It is 885 meters left.


If you come during April to July.
You might see caterpillars. Better to wear sleeve cover and a hat.


Take a rest whenever you want. It only takes less than an hour to reach the top.
You can take your time and enjoy the fresh air.


Trees beside the trail, it will not be too hot.





The first scenic overlook is at around the middle of the way.






Keep waking up the stairs, hiking and hiking.
Our goal is almost there.


The view point is right above.





You can see the Dadu River, you can see the whole Dadu District.
You can also watch the beautiful sunset.
The Route Blue, a best place for night view, is on the right.
That's the place we are going to when it gets dark.

 
We walk up the stairs, we hike and we sweat for taking a look of the view here.

The Taiwanese Meatball

The Taiwanese Meatball is a famous local food of Taiwan.
We call it "Bah Wan".
It is named because of it's a round shaped food.
The translucent part is made from the patato flour, the sweet potato flour
or the tapioca flour and the rice flour. 
And there is a meat ball inside.
We may steam it, fry it, or cook with oil.


We dip some sweet and salty sauce,
you can also add some sweet hot sauce if you like.
The translucent part taste chewy and easy to chew.
This is a really typical local food of Taiwan.
You only need to prepare some coins to enjoy such a delicious food.



Normally, we will have some soup as well.
I will suggest you to order the chitterling’s soup.(NT$30)



A Taiwanese Meatball for NT$30, a bowl of chitterling’s soup for NT$30.
You don't need to spend much to have a meal.
  
Dadu is not a very big city. But it has some lovely local food.
